Since we started the Illusion Horror & Con in 2022, we've been amazed by the growing, thriving community of Horror TTRPG enthusiasts.
We hope to continue fostering the horror gaming community through our online convention, panel discussions, guides, workshops, writers' discussions, and actual plays to bring people who love horror together.
Our friends at the Elysium Discord Server have also created and curated a fantastic environment for insightful discussions and analysis of Horror games and all things KULT: Divinity Lost-related.
Over the past 4 years, this community has also brought us amazing new ideas, feedback, and encouragement to keep going with what we started as a small hobby.
So here we are again with something new: a magazine about horror TTRPGs.
We believe this magazine is for you, whether you prefer Call of Cthulhu, Delta Green, KULT, Vaesen, or any other horror TTRPG that has crossed your path.
Transparently, KULT lore, mechanics, and philosophy of play will be topics on heavy rotation, simply because we are fans of the game and can not resist the urge to talk about it.
This, however, does not mean that we will only talk about KULT!
Some, if not most, of what we want to showcase here are elements common across most horror games and can be used independently of a game system or setting.
This magazine is for anyone who loves the dark, disturbing, uncanny, weird, or whatever horror means to you. Ideally, we hope to create something that is for players, GMs, creators, artists, publishers, and fans all the same - something that helps you connect to others, play games, or just find your people that you have always been looking for.
We want this magazine to be a place where the horror TTRPG community can come together, share ideas, and nerd out together over this incredible hobby we share.
We are kicking off the idea, but if you want to contribute, send us article ideas or art to use; please reach out.
Our first article will explain what is allowed, how to submit material, and what to expect.
Without further ado, we hope you enjoy this magazine.

Our friends and community members have helped to get the communication started - will you answer? The first issue is packed with amazing, thoughtfully crafted stories, discussions, and recommendations for your TTRPG horror table...
Our feature articles take a deeper look at horror tabletop roleplaying. From the philosophy of fear and the themes of KULT to player experiences, campaign design, and the wider horror TTRPG landscape, these articles invite you to slow down, think, and discuss.
Practical content for players and Game Masters. Find advice, techniques, creative exercises, scenario ideas, NPCs, locations, handouts, and other tools designed to help you bring more horror to your gaming table.
Not every article is written for the person behind the GM screen. This section focuses on the player experience: character creation, roleplaying, relationships, fear, failure, and the ways players can actively contribute to a better horror story.
Meet the people who make our community what it is. Discover creators, writers, artists, GMs, players, podcasters, convention organizers, and other voices from the horror TTRPG scene.
Our community scenario project, inspired by the Delta Green Shotgun Scenario format. Discover new horror scenarios, adventure seeds, locations, and ideas created by community members, and help decide which nightmares deserve to be remembered.
Letters, feedback, play reports, questions, opinions, and responses from our readers. Tell us what you played, what you thought, what worked, and what didn't. Your voice helps shape what comes next.
Go behind the scenes with writers, artists, designers, publishers, and other creators. Learn how horror content is made, where ideas come from, and what happens before a nightmare reaches the table.
Books, films, music, games, art, history, and strange real-world stories that inspire horror TTRPGs. Discover new sources of inspiration and see how they might find their way into your next game.
Meet the organizations, creators, and businesses supporting the magazine and the wider horror TTRPG community. Find their latest news, projects, events, and announcements in dedicated sponsor features.
Collaborative projects that bring readers together beyond the magazine pages. From KULT minis to future challenges, competitions, and community initiatives, this is where we turn shared ideas into experiences we can all share.
